Gee Gees Equestrian Team Portrait Shoot
I don’t just photograph horses; I photograph people too! Recently, I had the opportunity to combine both by capturing the annual team portraits for the University of University of Ottawa Equestrian Team. Known as the Gee-Gees Equestrian, this team has been a prominent part of collegiate riding in Canada since it was founded in 2003. They train at Wesley Clover Parks, allowing riders of all levels to try out and pursue their passion for equestrian sports.
What I find particularly wonderful about the University of Ottawa having an equestrian team is that it offers students, whether they come from nearby or abroad, the chance to continue riding while studying. They can engage in competitions and build connections with fellow riders, all while creating a sense of community away from home.
This photo session held a personal significance for me, as I am an alumna of Ottawa U. It was really enjoyable to revisit my old campus and create new memories. The day of the shoot was beautiful, and I find myself reflecting on the experience whenever I pass Tabaret Hall.
The team was vibrant and full of energy, making the shoot an absolute joy. I want to extend my wishes for a successful 2024/2025 season to the entire team!
